Lynn Ann Dochnahl, 66, of Pendleton, Oregon died Friday, December 6, 2013 in her home after surviving a very long battle with cancer.

Born in Slayton, Minnesota on June 23, 1947, to Alvin and Leona Ball, Lynn was a good student and loved to act....once playing in the The Glass Menagerie at her high school. A role she was always very proud of. After high school, she attended Mankato State for a short time before moving to California...where she later met her husband of 41 years.

Lynn was a Para-educator, enjoyed working with children, and using her skill of sign language in the special education class room. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help someone in need.

Through her long battle, she became a true example of strength and was preceded in death by her father Alvin Ball and her premature son, Mitchell Dochnahl. Lynn is survived by her mother Leona Morris, her husband Bill Dochnahl, her sister Debra Ball-Kilbourne, her brother Jerry Ball, her daughter Melody Hurley, her son-in-law Chris Hurley, and her two adorable grandchildren, Jewel and Luke Hurley.

By Lynn’s request, there will be no funeral. A small family gathering to celebrate her life will be held in June 2014.

I was so sorry to hear of Lynn's passing. She worked with us as an educational sign language interpreter, and she was dedicated to her students (hearing or deaf). She had a knack for connecting with each of her students, and was kind to all.
