Ruby Loa Carlos Mosby died February 27, 2018 in Pendleton, Oregon at the age of 93.

Ruby was born November 21, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Diamond George Carlos and Erma Lewis Carlos. She graduated from Redmond High School in 1943. She attended one year at Oregon State before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oregon and Washington. She then attended a year at University of Oregon in Eugene where she met Jerry Mosby.

Ruby and Robert Gerald “Jerry” Mosby were married August 22, 1947 in Eugene.  They lived in Newport, Eagle Point, Lakeview, Astoria Oregon before moving to Pendleton Oregon in 1963. Jerry died in 2015.  Ruby is survived by her six children, Susan Stevens of Taylorsville UT, Joyce Mosby of Vancouver WA, Jan Mosby of Johnson Creek WI, Thomas Mosby of Kennewick WA, Loa Mize of Tigard OR, and Eileen Hendricks of Boardman OR. Ruby was proceeded in death by her sister Elda Resare 2006, and brother Don Carlos 1942, and  survived by two sisters Dovy Landerholm of Vancouver WA and Bonnie Alcox of Baggs WY. Ruby had 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Ruby loved children.  She taught sunday school and primary classes for more than 40 years. She was a cub scout den mother, brownie leader, room mother and campfire leader. Once her children were grown, she volunteered for many years at West Hills and Lincoln Grade Schools as a reading tutor. Ruby had a talent for art and learned to oil paint. Her family cherishes her paintings.

Ruby will be buried at Shields Cemetery in Cottage Grove Oregon Monday, March 5 at noon with a family service.
