Kathleen (Kathy) Diane Spenst passed away in her home in Pendleton, Oregon on February 28th, 2024.
Kathy was born September 27th, 1953 in Auburn, Washington to Rosie and Jacob Spenst. Kathy was the youngest of five siblings.
Kathy will always be remembered as a devoted mother to eight children, a best friend to her siblings, and a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. Kathy was always very close to her religious beliefs, as well as to her older sister, Irene. Irene profoundly impacted Kathy’s life, she was her best friend, they shared most days together as they raised their children throughout the years.
Kathy’s young-adulthood prior to motherhood was spent attending school at Walla Walla University. During this time she practiced as a certified nurse assistant working with handicapped young boys. Kathy went on to be a religious homemaker, she always remained faithful in ministry until her passing. Kathy will especially be remembered for her religious faith and uplifting spirit that served to strengthen and inspire everyone she met.
Kathy will be missed more than words can express. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cheryl Weston, and her grandson Mason Reynolds. She leaves siblings; Lucille Snellgrove, Dr. John Spenst, and Irene Spenst, as well as her eight children; Thomas Thompson, Lisa Thompson, Gloria Thompson, Nichole Ludington, Kaitlin Quesenberry, Shawna Spenst, Lucas Reynolds, and Stephen Spenst. Kathy has more than 20 grandchildren that will also continue to carry on her faith and legacy.
