Ivan E. Jensen, 88, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, formerly of Baker City, passed away March 23, 2013.  He was at the Country Living Adult Foster Home in Pendleton.
Ivan was born December 6, 1924 to Christian and Pearl Jensen at Pleasant Valley, out of Baker City, Oregon.  After completing school, he enlisted in the Army and served until October 1946.  During this time he earned a Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal and Army of Occupation Medal (Japan).
Ivan married Lena Fulton in 1951 and later divorced in 1956.  In 1957 he married Margaret Sipp.  The couple eventually settled on the Sipp Ranch in Bowen Valley where he built the house they resided in.  After many years of service, Ivan retired from Ellingson Lumber where he worked as a certified lumber grader.
Ivan enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and carpentry.  He loved to bowl.  He fed as many as 300 quail during the winters.  He called them his “chickens”.  Spending time with family and his faithful dog Willie was important to him.
He is survived by daughter Pam Williamson and husband Pat of Rochester, Mn., daughter Rhonda McNeilus and husband Pat of Dodge Center, MN, daughter Shirley Baird and husband Dave of Pendleton, son Keith Jensen and wife Janet of Baker City, daughter Denice Wilson of Pilot Rock and son Robert  Jensen of Hermiston.   He is also survived by brother Lloyd Jensen and wife Carolyn of Bly, OR., sister Mildred Stringer of Seattle, Wa., and sister Norma Long of Baker City.  He had 21 grandkids and 35 great-grandkids with 2 on the way.  numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his twin sister Iva Brehmer,  sister Thelma Metsker, sister Murel Roumagoux, brother Norman Jensen and brother Wayne Jensen.
A celebration of Ivan’s life will be held April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Baker City at the Sunridge Restaurant.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimers Assoc. or a charity of your choice, c/o Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop, 131 SE Byers Ave., Pendleton, OR.
