Susan Elizabeth Lamb was promoted to glory at her home in Pendleton, Oregon, on June 14, 2017, at the age of 70.

Susan was born April 23, 1947 in Los Angeles, Calif., the second child of George and Evelyn Lamb. The Lamb family made their home in Honolulu, Hawaii, until 1950 when they returned to California. In 1959, the family moved to Chevy Chase, Maryland. As an eighth grade student, she (along with some of her classmates) worked on the campaign for President John F. Kennedy for which she received an invitation to President Kennedy’s inauguration.

The family returned to Pasadena in 1961 where Susan attended St. Andrews High School. She attended Pasadena City College for two years then went on to school to become an x-ray technician. After completing her training, she moved to Los Angeles where she lived and worked until 1985 when she moved to Oregon.

In 2006, she went to work as an administrative assistant at The Salvation Army until her retirement this year due to health reasons.

Susan had a loving spirit that touched many lives. She especially loved children and animals. She always had stickers in her desk drawer for the kids and doggie treats for the animals she encountered.

Susan is survived by her two brothers Michael (Martha) Lamb and John Lamb; two sisters Catherine (Bob) Powers and Mary (Jim) Leiblic; three nephews David, Paul and Jeremy; and one niece, Kristen. Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Life services will be held at The Salvation Army church, 15 S.E. Emigrant, Pendleton at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24. Food and fellowship will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army in Susan’s memory.
