Douglas William Webb, 64 of Pendleton died September 20th at St. Anthony’s following a bike accident.

Webb was born July 9th 1953 in Pendleton, OR to Don and JoAnne Webb. He grew up with his older brother and younger sister in Pendleton where he also met his wife of 35 years, Storm Bader Webb in 1979, whom he married December 4th, 1981.

Doug was self employed, operating Webb’s Cold Storage as a butcher and iceman. Many years of meeting friends and customers during deliveries and meat cutting sessions produced plenty of storytelling and laughs and fun times shared.

Doug was an excellent guitar player in his younger days. Cross picking was his specialty, playing in a bluegrass band, traveling to local fiddle contests and after his kids were born, he passed his love for music on to them. He loved hunting when he was younger up in the mountains with relatives, then later really enjoyed bird hunting with just him and his dog.  Fishing for salmon and steelhead and smoking a lot of his catches at “the plant” (Webb’s Cold Storage) led to lots of good eating and memories.

Doug is survived by his wife Storm, children Hannah (Adam) Gardner of Sedro Wooley, WA, Hank Webb of Portland, OR, and Ross Webb of Pendleton, granddaughter Georgia Gardner, parents Don and JoAnne Webb, Pendleton, OR, brother Dave Webb, La Grande, OR, sister Wendy Carames, Arroyo Grande, CA, and his best friend Juice, the dog.

A Celebration of life is planned for September 30th 2-4pm in the Helpers room at the Pendleton Roundup Grounds. Memorial contribution may be made to the Shriner’s  Hospital c/o Pendleton Pioneer Chapel.

Mr.& Mrs. Webb I am so.......sorry to learn of Doug's passing. I met Doug in the 7th grade at John Murray when we began our Jr. High & High School years together. Doug was such a special and a very good friend of mine all through Jr. High and High School. I have nothing but very fond, caring, fun, funny, and special tender memories of Doug. He was one of my very best guy friends all through Jr & high school. I have lived across the US in Florida most of my adult life, and sadly lost touch with all my Pendleton friends. The Lord took both Dave and now Doug home far too soon. My heart truly aches for you with losing both of your sons. May God be with you and keep you cradled in his love at this time and always. My deepest condolences.

Doug lived larger than life. He always excelled at whatever he chose to do. He made high school fun and exciting for me... He rolled my dune buggy for me, as I was not as a experienced driver as he was. His passing is a loss for the whole Pendleton community. To his parents, brother and sister and especially Storm and kids I'm so sorry for your loss.

Our families we so close all through our formative years that Doug seemed almost like a brother to me as a youngster. I am so saddened that he has been taken from his family at such a relatively young age. You all will be held in our hearts as you grieve this loss. Love from our family to yours.

I met Doug many years ago one evening in Pendleton. It was a brief meeting at which time he introduced his wife Stormy. I still remember his warm, kind, friendly exuberance. His character would have warmly touched many people.
