Joe Brady Howdyshell, 80, life-long resident of Pendleton, died November 16, 2017. He was born August 18, 1937 to Floyd “Bus” and Laura (Mumford) Howdyshell of Pendleton.

He played basketball and football for PHS, graduating in 1955. Joe worked with his father in the family business, Howdyshell Photos, taking pictures at the Round-Up for over 26 years. He farmed North of Pendleton from 1975 to just recently. He took great pride in his field work. Wheat harvest was his favorite time of year. Joe enjoyed many years at the family’s cabin in Ukiah-camping, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He was affiliated with Alcohol Anonymous for 29 years and held weekly AA meetings at EOCI for 13 years.

Joe is survived by his life-partner Debbie Kerby, sister Patricia Johnson, children Jennifer Howdyshell (Dave Boise) and Christopher Howdyshell, grandchildren Carter Boise and Brandon Howdyshell among a niece, nephew and several great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop, December 2, 2017, at 1 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at the Let’er Buck Room.

Joe was my favorite neighbor in Despain Gulch. I loved to stop and swap stories with him anytime he was around on my drive home....RIP Joe...

Deb and family,

I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing... Im sorry Debby for you and your family .. May your precious memories comfort you and the knowledge of knowing what a great guy he was and so easy to work with in his photography.. He will be missed. Bless you all
