Schawnee  Inez “Sissie” Soliz died September 26, 2018.  She born in Evansville, Indiana in 1976 where she lived briefly with her mother Ruthie Baker and her siblings, Manuel Soliz, Antonio Soliz and Nina Soliz.  Her family moved to Pendleton in 1979, where she had all of her children, MaRanda Soliz, Alexandria Mahoney, Dean Mahoney, Leon Dave and Shylo Baldwin.

She was a wonderful mother and a person who could light up a room with her contagious laugh and bubbly personality.  All of her friends and family will agree that she had a beautiful soul who was unable to fully live her life and those who had the pleasure of knowing her are at a loss for words.  Her loss has broken all the hearts of those who had the grace of being around her glow.  She was loved more than she ever even knew.

A recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Andrews Catholic Church.  A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3 at the church with burial to follow at St. Andrews Cemetery.

Sissie was a wonderful student when I supervised her at PJH. Her smile and laughter was contagious. She could make a dull day come to light and you just had to laugh or smile. A kind young lady, she love her family and friends. Our staff had a real fondness for her. I am so sorry that she has passed. I’ve been gone from Pendleton for many years but I often thought of my native students and enjoyed them so much. God Bless Sissie. Into the arms of Jesus she rests. 💚🍀

Sissie was one of our favorites in middle school. We valued her free spirit and uplifting personality. So sorry she is gone so soon.

I attended school with Sissy from middle school on. She was always a very happy person with a huge smile and definitely a laugh that was contagious. My thoughts and prayers to her family. May she rest in peace.
