Condolences to Wiley’s family and friends. He was a gem and would always brighten my day with our talks.

Wiley was always part of the solution and not the problem, was a positive and supportive man.  I enjoyed knowing him and will remember him fondly.  I knew him  as I went through the officer chairs in the BPO Elks Lodge.  What a great man with a great smile.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Wiley and 5 other veterans at the Walla Walla Veterans Home each week for the past year and a half.  Wiley was a joy to visit with.  I know that he was often in pain but one would never know it because he was always engaged, cheerful and positive.  I loved hearing his stories of growing up in Mississippi and trapping with his father; being in Korea during his military service; his life in Pilot Rock working with U.S. Gypsum; and his career driving trucks.   Mostly, he shared about his love for his wife, children and grandchildren.  He displayed their pictures prominently and would get the biggest smile in telling stories about them all.   I always felt uplifted after my hour or so with Wiley each week.  I miss him very much.
