Allison Kate Mahaffey-Petty, a former resident of Pendleton, Oregon passed away peacefully at her home in Walla Walla, Washington, on August 28, 2024, after a courageous seven-month battle with lung and bone cancer.
Throughout her journey, Allison displayed incredible strength, greeting every triumph with a smile and every setback with unwavering grace. Allison was born on October 26, 1987, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Tony Mahaffey and Angela Mahaffey. She graduated from Pendleton High School and soon after married William Petty. The couple moved to Colorado Springs, where William served in the military.
In the years following, Allison began a successful career as a paralegal. Her work took her to Boston, where she realized her dream of working for a large law firm. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she had the opportunity to return to Walla Walla, working remotely while being near her mother.
Allison is survived by her mother, Angela Mahaffey, of Walla Walla, Washington and her father, Tony Mahaffey (Diane), of Pendleton, Oregon. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Amanda (Robert) Cartmell, Andrew (Devin) Mahaffey, Felicia Carter, and Anthony Mahaffey. She cherished her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, often saying they were her heart and soul. A celebration of Allison's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of the remarkable woman she was.
