Louise was born on August 28, 1921, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Joseph and Morvia (Chapman) Kopp. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Pendleton and went on to build a career as a legal secretary in Portland, Oregon. For many years, she served the federal judiciary as secretary to Judge John F. Kilkenny of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, before retiring in 1984.
Louise traveled extensively throughout her life and was known for her curiosity, grace, and the warmth with which she made friends wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marie Kopp of Portland, Oregon, and Joan Hinz of Corvallis, Oregon. She is survived by her nephew, Dr. Robert Hinz of Bryan, Texas, and great-nephews Joshua Hinz of McKinney, Texas, and Joseph Hinz of Carrollton, Texas.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pendleton, Oregon. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at Olney Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice in her memory.
