Betty Jean (Foss) Price

Betty Jean Price of Pendleton died October 1, 2023. She was born in Mount Vernon, Oregon to Albert and Laura Lofton Foss April 12, 1932. She grew up in Grant County and boarded at St. Joseph’s Academy in Pendleton in her younger school years. She graduated from Pendleton High School in 1950. She married Fred Price Jr. in 1951. They raised eight children on their wheat ranch east of Pendleton. 

Betty loved traveling, especially to the Oregon Coast. She also loved gardening, sewing, and reading. She enjoyed sharing good times with family and friends with her homemade meals and desserts. 

Betty is survived by her husband Fred. Children; Rhonda Schultz (Ron), Fred Price (Jennie), Mary Jo Piatt (Ron), Nancy Hudson (Kevin), Julie Palm (Dan), Beth O’Hanlon (Tim), Jan Schwan (Marty), and Jill Deutz (Joe). Special nieces Kathy and Gretchen. Seventeen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren with many cousins, nieces 

and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Henry Foss, sister Clara Anne Schmidt and son in-law Scott Hudson.

The funeral Service is Thursday, October 5 with a Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 and Mass at 11:00 at St. Andrew’s Church with a reception to follow at the church hall.
