Donna Jane Imsland
March 22, 1928 – October 8, 2022
Donna Imsland passed away October 8, 2022 following complications from pneumonia, with her granddaughter Tara by her side. She most recently made her home at Sunridge Retirement which she enjoyed greatly.
Donna was born in Lakeview, Oregon to Uriah and Anna Vincent. Their home was in Paisley where Donna went through school. Donna’s great grandfather was one of the first settlers in Lake County and she enjoyed many fishing trips with her mother and grandmother. She was also an avid horseman. In 1945 Donald (Curly) Imsland returned from WWII. They were married on September 2, 1945 and on their first anniversary their daughter Gloria was born. Five years later they had a son, Jerry.
The couple worked a variety of jobs while buying a few Hereford cattle. In 1960, they moved to Joseph, then Imnaha the following summer, Enterprise and then settled in Wallowa. Donna worked at Burrow’s café for several years and many people remember her jovial nature, warm smile and a fresh joke or two. In 1972 they bought the Warnock place north of Lostine. Both Curly and Donna were known for their quality cattle and meticulous care. They reached their goal of having a very beautiful ranch. In 2005 they sold the ranch and lived for a couple of years in Wallowa. With additional free time, Donna was able to concentrate on her slot machine training in Jack Pot, Reno, and finally Pendleton. Due to medical issues, they moved to Pendleton in 2002, possibly to be closer to Wildhorse casino. Upon Curly’s death Donna remained in Pendleton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curly, mother, father, sister Francis, sister Neyca, and brother Orville.
She is survived by daughter Gloria (Oran) McCrae of Wallowa, son Jerry (Julie) Imsland of Pendleton, 7 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great
grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on October 21, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Wallowa Cemetery.
