Dr. Kenneth Leek Obituary

Kenneth Leek passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023 at his home with hospice care, a private nurse and his precious family by his side. He was born in Ozark County Missouri to Eula and Aulton Leek on May 27, 1936.

In the 87 years that Ken lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a husband, dad, brother and grandpa, plus a good friend to many. He truly had a heart of gold and always a listening ear. He was so patient with all things in life. In good times and challenging times, he did his best to handle them with kindness.

Ken graduated from Medford High School, received his Bachelor of Science from Pacific University, followed by a Doctor of Optometry degree. He had a private practice, Pendleton Vision Center, from 1965-1998.

Ken was active in Jaycees, Rotary, and the Pendleton Elks.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, wood carving, reading, cooking, and his special trips to Baja Mexico and Alaska.

He had wonderful years with his grandchildren, Hannah and Joseph.  He was able to watch them grow from toddlers to accomplished young adults.  The bond he shared with them brought him so many blessings and they truly made his life complete.

Ken loved his quiet time outside and his love for nature could be considered his passion.  His hunting buddies of many years were very close and this friendship made up a huge part of his life.  Also, fishing with family and friends was right at the top of his good times, any day or every day.

Ken is survived by his wife Connie of 63 years, his daughter Lori Hale, son-in-law Kevin Hale, granddaughter Hannah Breen (husband Aaron Breen), grandson Joseph Hale, sister Pat Findley (husband Jack Findley) and his special nieces and nephews.

At his request, there will be no services.  Memorial donations may be made to Pendleton Foundation Trust, P.O. Box 218, Pendleton, Oregon 97801, or a charity of choice.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
