Eugene "Ken" Kenneth Jackson

E. Kenneth Jackson was born Dec 14, 1922, in Heppner Oregon; the first of Ralph and Cecile Jackson's children: Ken (1922-2023), Marcella Kee (1926-2009), and is survived by Carol (Dewey) Rice (1934), Portland OR. His father was in the ranching and farm implement business in Morrow County. Ken joined his father in the cattle business in 1949 after attending Columbia Preparatory School in Portland and the University of Oregon as a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. His college time was interrupted by 3 years of military service during WWII, first in the Infantry, then flying B-25s with the Army Air Corps. After the war he returned to the U of O, lettering in Track.

Ken married Elaine Konesky of Great Falls, MT in 1949. He is the father of 4 children: Barbara Roberts - Leavenworth, WA (1950), Tom Jackson - Lake Oswego, OR (1951), Jane Teach - Portland, OR (1955) and Bob Jackson (1959 - deceased 2005).  He has a grandson, Jeff Jackson - Portland OR (1985). His wife Elaine passed away in 2003.

Ken moved his family to Pendleton in 1969 as manager of the Production Credit Association. In Pendleton he served on the Happy Canyon board of directors, the Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame board of directors, the Pendleton Country Club board of directors, Rotary for over 20 years, the St. Anthony Hospital board of directors, and 34 years on the board of directors of the Pendleton Foundation Trust.

E. Ken passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, with his family in attendance, at 100 years of age.

Recitation of the Rosary, Friday, December 15, 2023 at 6:00 pm.  The Rosary will be held at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 9:00 am, at St. Andrews Mission, 48022 St. Andrews Rd., Pendleton.  There will be a reception following the Mass at 12:00.  It will be held at Joe's Cantina at 322 S. Main Street, Pendleton.
