Helen (Meyers) Graymer

Helen Frances Meyers Graymer died on July 20th. She outlived her friends, family members and husband. She was not thrilled with her last role.
She grew up on a farm in Echo, and always considered herself a farm girl, though she never did like chores. She attended Nursing School at Oregon State University and University of Oregon graduating in 1949. She was a Nurse at Providence Hospital in Portland and St Anthony’s Hospital and provided for her family while her husband, Harold Graymer, was getting started in business.

She had many interests and things that made her happy and she persuaded them with great zest. Helen was a member of the Historical Society as well as the Blue Mountain Doll Club. She had an almost journalistic zest for research and was an avid reader.

Each of her 3 kids, their spouses, and grand kids had a different relationship with her and we're all better for it.

While her family played their roles trying to interact with her in the later years, it was a joy to see the people who took care of her while she lived at home and in Suttle Care interact with her as a person. She went back and forth with them at times being grumpy but also her whit was amazing that would make one laugh out loud. We all thank you for that.

Graveside services at 9:30am August 1st at Olney Cemetery.
