Helen Harrison Obituary

Helen D. Harrison, a longtime resident of Pendleton and Milton Freewater, OR., passed away peacefully at 97 in Milton Freewater on March 31, 2026. Born in Nampa, Idaho, in August 1928, she was the second oldest of seven children. Her parents were Wilson Guard “Bill” Miller and Lucille (Fike) Miller.

Her husband Wallace J. “Butch” Harrison preceded her in death. They were married for 60 years. All of her siblings but the youngest, preceded her in death. She had 5 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her brother Wilson “Bill” Miller of Boise Idaho, her son, Terry W. Harrison of Milton Freewater and her daughter, Linda K. Herndon of Portland, OR. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Helen’s 20+ years at the “Bon Marche” in Pendleton left her with many friends and acquaintances, most of whom she outlived!  Helen loved playing and watching golf including a trip to the 1978 Master’s Tournament in Augusta Georgia where Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus were playing.  Mom and dad enjoyed flying together in their younger years as Butch learned to fly on the GI bill after coming home from the war.

They were “the best” parents and supporters of their children and grandchildren. Many came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior because of their influence. Helen will be laid to rest with her husband Butch in Pendleton with a private family gathering.  Peace be with you, our dear mother.
