Marie Reynolds Dorough, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter & friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 at Ashley Manor in Chubbuck, Idaho, where she received the most compassionate care. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Skyview Memorial Park. A celebration of life/luncheon will follow at 11:30AM at the Blanc’s residence.
Marie was born on November 11, 1927 in Greenbrier, Arkansas & was one of eight children to parents Zera French Reynolds & Roy Holmer Reynolds. Marie’s parents & siblings, Florene Rittenhouse, Lester Reynolds & Charles Reynolds & husband Faber Dorough all surpassed her in death. Marie is survived by sisters, Elowese Browning of Corning, AR, Marvel Atkisson of Poplar Bluff, and brother, Zack Reynolds of Walla Walla, WA. She is also survived by Teresa(daughter), Jason(son-in-law) & Isabella(granddaughter) Birrer of Pocatello, ID & many nephews & nieces. Despite distance, she maintained a close & loving relationship with her siblings throughout their lives.
In 1947 Faber & Marie moved to Pendleton, Oregon at the encouragement from family friends and remained there until 2011 when they relocated to Vancouver, WA, where her daughter lived. Florene, Charles & Zack along with their families moved to Oregon as well. The transition marked a new chapter for their families shaping a community and family foundation that would flourish for years.
Marie's life was rooted in scripture and uplifting wisdom. She collected inspirational calendars, treasured quotes & scriptures that she’d carry in her heart always. A devoted follower of Christ, she served in the First Baptist Church, First Church of God and the Gideon International Organization during her time in Pendleton alongside Faber and other lifelong friends. Marie leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, family and an incomparable work ethic. Through her example, her daughter learned the importance of responsibility, belief, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Her life was a testament to the power of diligence, devotion, and delight in simple pleasures. She’ll be deeply missed – may her spirit continue to inspire family & friends she left behind along with every heart she touched.
