Melodie Johnson Obituary

Passed away on August 4th at the age of 57.  We know her Father, Mother and many other family members were waiting to welcome her as she entered the gates of Heaven. She will be missed but she is so happy to be with her family and loved ones.  She told her cousin Sherri, just a few weeks before she passed away, how much she missed her mother.  She then said, ”I know she is well again and happy to be with my dad in heaven with Jesus and all her family.”

Melodie was born in Fullerton, CA on April 14, 1964 and was adopted by Paul and Edith Johnson.  The family moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1966.  When Paul and Edith retired in 2000, the family moved to Roseville, CA.  Melodie spent most of her adult life in Roseville.  She enjoyed many wonderful trips and great times with her parents when they would spend their summer vacations in Pismo Beach.  She had a special love for Jesus and enjoyed attending church, choir, concerts and plays with her family before and after they moved to Roseville.

In 2017 Edith and Melodie moved to Pendleton OR to be near family since their health had begun to decline.  Melodie lived the last 3 years in an Independent Senior Living Home called Sunridge.  She had many friends at Sunridge.  She lived a very good life there and many residents told us how much she was loved and will be missed.

Melodie was preceded in death by her Father Paul, in April of 2008, her mother Edith, in April 2020, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Melodie is survived by her Aunt Barbara & Uncle George Smith, Uncle Stan & Aunt Cathy Bragg, along with 8 cousins Sherri, Rhonda, Luayne, Mark, Becky, Steve, Cherie, Leann and their spouses and families.

When Melodie was  in her  30’s, she met her biological family.  They became an important part of her life and she developed close relationships with them.  Melodie’s biological family members are, mother Nancy Watkins, husband Bob,  sister, Trish O’Donoghue, husband Nick and two brothers Todd, wife Jeannie and brother Paul, who preceded her in death. Melodie’s biological family loved her very much.  They loved her gentle, loving and kind spirit.  They shared her love of Jesus and Melodie will always live in their hearts and memories.
