Michael Joseph Daly

Michael Joseph Daly, 68, of Pendleton died April 18, 2022 at his home.  He was born August 22, 1953 in Granard, County Longford, Ireland to Michael and Bridgett (Keegan) Daly.  He attended school in Ireland.  His father died when he was 13 so he started working to help support his family.  At age 19, he immigrated to the United States, moving to Eastern Oregon to work in the local mill.  He held various jobs until he was hired by the Doherty family as a sheep herder.  He worked for them for many years.   

On April 20, 1996, he married Beverly Joyce Long at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pendleton.  He enjoyed listening to Irish music, going back to Ireland to visit family and friends and his beloved dogs.  He had a great work ethic and was loved by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joyce Daly; brothers, Vincent Daly of Canada, Eddie Daly of Ireland; sisters, Helen Dunne of Canada, Bridgett Daly of Pennsylvania; step-children, James Woodell of Pendleton, Brenda Carr of England, Brian Woodell of Monument and numerous cousins and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop.
