Michael "Mike" Taylor Obituary

Michael (Mike) Raymond Taylor Sr., 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with CADASIL. He was born on May 8, 1958, in Eureka, California, to Claude Raymond Taylor and Jackuelyn Marie Taylor.

Mike graduated from Pendleton High School in 1976 and immediately answered the call to serve his country, joining the Army that same year. He spent most of his military career stationed in Germany before being honorably discharged in 1982. His dedication continued as he served with the National Guard until 1987, also receiving an honorable discharge.

Throughout his working years, Mike was a familiar face in car sales, working for Winters, Comries, and Round Up City Dodge. He also worked at EOCI in the 1980s, where he was an active member of their softball team. From 1995 to 2000, Mike co-owned Taylor Painting with his brother, Scott. Mike retired in 2007 after his CADASIL diagnosis.

Outside of work, Mike embraced life with enthusiasm. His most cherished hobby was fishing, whether casting a line from the face of a dam or enjoying special occasions boating on various lakes and rivers. He also found joy in golfing, bowling, watching movies, and traveling. Mike and his beloved wife, Jeri, shared many adventures, including numerous cruises, trips to Mexico, and a memorable month-long journey to Spain in 2018 to celebrate his 60th birthday. Above all, Mike’s greatest joy came from being a grandfather.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Jeri Taylor; former wife and mother of his children, Theresa Arnold; his children, Nicole (Jason) McLouth, Michael Taylor Jr. (Crystal Leibert), Eric Taylor, and Erin (Roko) Gucake; and his seven grandchildren, Peyton, Miranda, Megan, Lucas, Sophia, Adalynn, and Roman. He also leaves behind his stepmother, Ellen Taylor; mother-in-law, JoLynne Rohde; sister, Kristie Taylor; stepsisters, Valerie (Gary) Krieger, Brenda (Dave) Knight, and Rhonda Hasbrouck; niece, Jackuelyn (Rory) Simpson; and several grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Jackuelyn Taylor, and his brother, Scott Taylor.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 6, at 12:00 PM at Olney Cemetery. A celebration of life for family and friends will immediately follow at the Pendleton Eagles Lodge (428 S Main).
