Nancy “Hallie” Lynn Harvey died June 25th , 2022 after her battle with cancer.
She was born on October 5,1950 in Elk Grove, California to Dick and June Halverson. She was the third and final child preceded by her two older brothers, Raymond and Richard Halverson. At the age of twelve she and her family moved to Enterprise, Oregon where she attended school. Her father was a contractor in Wallowa County and her mother was a homemaker. Hallie moved to Pendleton in 1975 with her husband and two children. She held many occupations that spanned from selling real estate to owning a dry-cleaning business.
She married James Harvey on June 7, 1984, and they were married for 36 years before he also lost his battle with cancer in 2020. Hallie was involved in the Pendleton Round-Up for many years and had a passion for western art, fashion, and culture. She was known for her spunky personality, her cowboy boot collection, and her famous pup, Puddles. Hallie had many hobbies but gardening, sewing, crafting and reading topped the list. Hallie enjoyed entertaining and hosting friends and family. She was a loving grandmother to twenty-four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dick and June Halverson, her husband James Harvey, her daughter-in-law, Dawn Harvey and her grandson Teddy Baker. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Halverson (Jan) and Raymond Halverson and her children, Brent Thompson (Tina), Jennifer Kennedy (TK), Justin Harvey, Jamie Oldenburg (Derek), Austin Harvey (Danielle), her brother and sister-in-law, John and Cindy Harvey along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life to honor Hallie’s life and legacy held at the Roy Raley Room from 4-7 pm on Thursday, July 21st . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Community Bank to the Jim and Hallie Harvey Cancer is Bull scholarship fund. This fund will allow people with cancer a chance to attend one of their favorite events, the PBR (Professional Bull Riding) show in Pendleton, Oregon.
