Patricia Anne "Pat" Michael
Pat was born March 31, 1930, in Stevenson, WA. at the home of her parents James Edward and Mildred Carrie Burlingame. They later divorced and Mildred went to work for a farmer in Rufus. Pat attended first grade at Rufus Grade School and the second and third grades at the Pedro Country School. When Pat's mother, Mildred, married Truman A. Cross, they moved to the ranch in Coombs Canyon. Pat then entered the Pendleton school system and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1948.
At a community dance she met a handsome Pilot Rock man, James Michael, and after a short engagement, they were married on September 10th, 1949. They bought a house in Pilot Rock and started their family. They had four sons: Donald James (Mary), Thomas Patrick (Leslie), Benjamin Edward and John Charles (Karleen).
Pat was involved in many activities throughout her life in Pilot Rock. For many years she made, decorated and delivered wedding cakes and bridal flowers. There were some harrowing, funny stories she would tell about those times.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and stepparents, husband Jim, son Ben, grandson Joseph and five stepsiblings. She is survived by her three sons, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one stepsister M.J. Wallis, Portland, two half-sisters, Susan (Joe) Manning, Oregon City and Carol Cross, Pendleton, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pat's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital in her name, or your charity of choice.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
