October 23, 1940-September 22, 2024
Patricia Ann Shupe, 83, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024 at Park Manor Rehabilitation Facility in Walla Walla, Washington.
She was born October 23 1940 in Sacramento California to Albert and Edith May.
Patricia graduated from Sacramento Senior High School. She enjoyed school sports in high school. She really enjoyed baseball, volleyball and tether ball. She majored in business and music.
After graduating high school, she worked for the State of California, starting at DMV as a Junior Clerk and then as a Senior Stenographer at Highway Patrol. Patricia married Lenard Shupe August 3, 1963. She had one son, James Kennith, who was the light of her world. She especially enjoyed attending their son’s baseball games from the beginning (T ball) then on to Little League, Babe Ruth and ending in Winter League.
In 1979 Patricia, Lenard and Jim moved from Woodland California to Pendleton Oregon. She worked as a Secretary (State of Oregon) and also worked as a Secretary- Umatilla ESD where she eventually retired. Her and Lenard enjoyed spending time with their family and had many treasured camping and fishing memories with their son and daughter-in-law.
In 1999 she became a grandmother for the first time. Her grandson, Loren Shupe spent much time at his grandparent’s home. He brightened both her and Lenard’s life immensely. He continued to be her most special and beloved grandson until the end.
Patricia liked gardening, knitting, crocheting and bird watching. She loved her little dog Hope and cat, Boots. Her pets always had a special place in her heart and gave her much joy.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends. She looked forward to her weekly bible studies and enjoyed very much the company of her friends.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Deanna Shupe and her grandson, Loren Shupe, all of Pendleton Oregon.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, at Creekside Church in Pendleton, Oregon.
