Rick Arkell Etter, a beloved father and grandfather passed away at his home in Pilot Rock on April 15th , 2025.

Rick was born in Pendleton on April 8th , 1956, to parents Bill and Elizabeth (Sue) Etter. Rick attended school in Pilot Rock, graduating in 1974. After high school Rick attended EOCC in LaGrande where he graduated with a degree in Mathematics. After college Rick returned to Pilot Rock where he student taught math for two years and then finally working for his family ranch.

Rick married Beverly Busherd in 1982 and welcomed her children Stephanie and Michael into his family. In 1984, Rick and Bev became parents to a daughter Karee Lynn. Rick enjoyed attending Karee’s sporting events, spending time at his cabin property with his good friends and neighbors Scott and Bonnie Sager, fixing small engines and spending time with his grandchildren.

Rick is survived by his wife Beverly, daughter Karee (Lonnie), stepdaughter Stephanie, stepson Michael, grandchildren Bailey and Holden, brother John, sister Catherine, a niece and two nephews.

Rick was proceeded in death by his parents Bill and Sue Etter.

To honor Rick’s request, there will be no public services.
