In Loving Memory of Rose “Marie” Corwin 

5/9/1956 – 1/8/2025 

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Marie Corwin age 68, who left us on January 8,2025.  Born on May 6, 1956, in Enterprise, OR. Marie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who touched many lives. 

Marie spent her younger years in Wallow, OR. Her family moved to Pilot Rock, OR where she attended grade school. They then moved to Heppner, OR where she attended middle school through high school. 

She married the love her life Tim Corwin in August of 1973. She was fortunate to gain a stepson, Tim, when they exchanged their vows. She then had her first child a daughter Christy in 1973, her first son Ray in 1976, and her second son Terry in 1984. She loved her children with all her heart and soul.  

She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored and spoiled rotten.  She was affectionately called "Mom and Grandma" by many children over the years. She loved and cherished them as if they were her own. 

Their careers led them to relocate a few times after getting married. They lived in Long Creek OR, Heppner OR, and then went back to Pilot Rock OR. She gained lifelong friends and loved ones along the way. 

Marie had a unique ability to bring people together with her warmth, generosity, big heart, and infectious spirit. Her home was always open, and she found joy in being around family and the people she loved, creating an environment filled with laughter and love.  She loved camping and being in the mountains, whether picking huckleberries or mushrooms, or just going up and staying at hunting camp.  She also loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers in her yard. 

Marie is survived by her Husband Tim Corwin of 51 years.  Her Children Tim Corwin (Brenda), Christy Felton (Eric Kuh), Ray Corwin (Traci), and Terry Corwin (Ashley).  Grandchildren Tim Corwin, Tani Huttunen (Robbie), Tyrelle Corwin, Wyatt Corwin, Tanner Corwin, Chase Corwin, and Aubrey Corwin. She also had 6 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Lorena Shuman, her brothers, Loren and Bob Shuman, and her sisters, Jeannie Malsam and Linda Shuman. 

A celebration of Marie's life will be held on February 8th at 1:00 at the Pilot Rock Community Center, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and reflect on the many ways, she enriched the lives of everyone she knew.  

Rest in peace, Marie. You will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten.
