Rudy Wallis Stefancik, 68, passed away on August 14, 2024 at home after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer's and Aphasia. He was born on September 22, 1956 in Houston, Texas to Rudy Thomas Stefancik and Jacque Daphyne Starr Stefancik. The oldest of four children.
In his early years the family moved often and he was always active in Band and Boy Scouts achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He continued his education at the University of Texas in Austin and later at the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, embarking on a career as a Pathologist.
He was active with Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, the John Sealy School of Medicine Alumni Association and a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. Rudy loved fishing, was a certified diver, a hunter and a traveler to National Parks and Europe. A devoted fan of the University of Texas Longhorn football team, he rarely missed a game on TV and held season tickets for years, traveling to Texas for a few of the games.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue. His brother Robert Michael Stefancik, wife Mary Ann. His sister, Sherilyn Jan Fox, husband Corey. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and a large family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Stefancik.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 27th at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Pilot Rock, Oregon. Rosary at 7:30AM and Mass at 8:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vange John Memorial Hospice in Hermiston, Oregon or to a charity of the donor's choosing.
