Sabra Jean (Gardner) Crysler

Sabra Crysler, 76, passed from this Earth on June 3, 2022, at St Mary's in Walla Walla, Washington.

Sabra was born in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, to Bill and Ruth Gardner. At the age of six, her family
moved to Pilot Rock, Oregon, where she went to school until High School. She graduated from Pendleton High in
1964. She worked for Attorney Harold Fabre for many years as a legal assistant, and finished her career as a
Circuit Court Clerk, working 14 years for the Oregon Judicial Department.

In 1964, she married the man she would be with for 54 years, The Rev. Kenneth Crysler. She would be by
his side thru college, Seminary, 30 years of teaching and circuit riding for the Diocese of Eastern Oregon, and 15
years of declining health. She loved him as much at the end as she did in the beginning.

She was a member of OREALS, many of the guilds at the Church of the Redeemer (Pendleton,) the
Cursillo Community of Eastern Oregon, and the Pendleton Kiwanis Club. She loved to garden, fly fish, and was an
accomplished Alto in many choirs. She enjoyed traveling and had been to Mexico, Canada and Western Australia
where her daughter lives. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She was an “adopted mom” to
many of her children's friends, and was “Nana” to so many more. She loved, and was loved, by so many.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Shirley Marshall (Lafe,) and brother Dean Gardner (Patty,)
and her beloved husband, Ken.

She is survived by brother Stan Gardner (Laura) of Pendleton, son Ken Crysler (Christine) of Ontario,
Oregon, and daughter Sabrina Gillespie (Cameron) of Secret Harbour, Western Australia. Her 5 grandchildren
Gabe (Megan,) Evangeline, Jessica, Kage, and Ella.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of the Redeemer, Pendleton Oregon at 1:00pm on June
21st. Refreshments will be provided afterwards in the Crysler Parish Hall of Redeemer. All are welcome!
