Vicky Lynne (Wren) Friedel passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington
on April 4, 2023, with her husband, Bill Friedel, by her side. She was 59 years old.
Vicky was born to Theron and Carla Wren on June 26, 1963 in Blackfoot, Idaho. She
graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1981 and then became a certified Cosmetologist.
Vicky married Bill Friedel on November 6, 1981 and they were later sealed in the Chicago LDS
Temple. They made their home in Blackfoot, Idaho and in 1985 were blessed with their first
child, a daughter they named Brandy. Later that same year, Vicky and Bill moved to Morris,
Illinois as Bill started his Nuclear Power career. While still in Illinois during 1986, their
second child, Brandon, was born. While living in Maryland in 1989, their 3rd and final child,
Derek, was born. Their final move was to Tri-Cities, Washington in 1989.
Vicky was always ready for the next adventure and loved to do exciting things with her
family and friends. You couldn’t go anywhere with her without running into someone that
knew her. She had a bright and energetic personality that was contagious and lit up the
room. She was smart, creative, fashion conscious, and she possessed a spontaneous and
fun sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. Deeply empathetic and loyal, she never
hesitated to help or give to those that she cared about. Vicky was a lifelong friend and
touched many lives with her generosity and regard. She will be greatly missed by so many
people who loved her.
Vicky’s greatest joy was spending time and having adventures with her grandchildren. She
was a true kid at heart and connected with them in a very loving and special way.
Vicky loved music and looked forward to going to concerts. Her last concert was with her
husband and cousins at the Usana Theatre in Utah, to see Keith Urban for like the 5th time!
Vicky is survived by her three children: Brandy (David) Hollaway, Brandon Friedel, and Derek (Heather)
Friedel; and her eight grandchildren: Claire Friedel (2), Haylee Hollaway (5), Bronx Friedel
